Want to pave the roads in Rye? Sell it salt to melt the snow? Peddle new uniforms for women and men in Blue?

Well, now you can, all you have to do is sign-up. It will run you $89.95/year to receive requests (RFPs) from Rye.

Rye City is using a new e-procurement system:

"The City of Rye announced today that it has joined the Empire State Purchasing Group, a BidNet online procurement system that provides vendors with an easier and more economical way to access and compete for local government bids in New York.

The New York bid system connects 2,480 departments from 160 local government agencies and provides a bid notification system that gives vendors instant access to Bids, RFPs, quotes and amendments online. The City of Rye will be officially joining the Empire State Purchasing Group on May 1 providing its vendors with convenient access to bid information on the system.

The City of Rye invites all local vendors to join the bid system to receive access to its upcoming bids. Vendor benefits of registering on Empire State Purchasing Group include:

  •         24-hour access to local government opportunities
  •         Notification customized to the vendors’ products or services provided
  •         Reliable and timely delivery of notifications, addendum and documents
  •         Advanced notification of Term-Contracts
  •         E-Bid and E-Quote Submission

“The benefits to participation in the procurement network and sharing resources with other agencies are many,” said Ryan Coyne, City Engineer. “As part of the Empire State Purchasing Group we will be able to ensure that the City obtains the best costs possible—which is critical in the current economic climate.”

The network was developed and is maintained by BidNet’s e-procurement solution, SourceSuite, an Albany, N.Y. company that manages 15 government purchasing groups throughout the country.

Vendors who provide goods and services can register for the system to receive bid opportunities from the City of Rye and the system’s other local agencies. The online bid and vendor management system system is easy for staff and vendors to use, while minimizing costs, and improving process efficiency and transparency.
