Rye Schools Issue Safety Alert

From Rye Schools Monday:

At approximately 3:45 this afternoon, a Midland School student was followed south on Midland Avenue in the vicinity of Palisade Road. At some point, the driver of the car yelled to the child and motioned for the child to come over to the car.  The student did not respond to the driver and is safe. The car was described as black with blue paint in the front.  The driver was described as a male/white about 30 years-of-age with facial hair.  For the next several days, Rye Police Officers will provide all schools with extra patrol in the mornings and afternoons. Please remind your children of safety measures that should always be taken.
