  1. At a time when we as a community are looking into ways to mitigate the flooding impact of major storms like Hurricane Sandy, it is amazing that the majority of items coming before the planning board are requests to utilize some portion of a wetland buffer. Wetlands are important areas to protect not only for ecosystems but also as a gathering area for storm water runoff. I hope our planning commissions will consider these issues when making its decisions
