Driving BMWs, Rye Schools and Raising $50K
This could be more fun than the Dragon Coaster. One hundred and sixty four spots are left and one could be yours for $250 smackers. Rye Fund for Education is pleased to bring BMW's Teen Driving School to Rye Playland on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18th.
"This is such a great opportunity for people in our community to take advantage of something that very few ever have access to," said Jimmy Roberts, Rye resident and legendary NBC and Golf Channel sportscaster. The Rye Fund for Education is expecting to raise as much as $50,000 by offering the driving school.
"BMW is bringing its famous driving experience to Rye — the first time BMW has done so in our area. We are so thrilled that they have chosen to support our educational foundation in this way," said Laura Slack, President, Rye Fund for Education.
The two hour course, available for students and adults, teaches real life driving applications with a special focus on distracted driving and accident avoidance. Students with just learner's permits can also take the course.
Drivers will receive behind the wheel experiences in BMWs with professional BMW driving instructors who will provide one-on-one lessons about maneuvering, braking, and skid control for more confidence on the road.
To participate, a $250 tax deductable donation to the Rye Fund for Education is required. Make your donation and book the session now.
