Mrs. Greens Market Opens at 1037 Boston Post Road Today, Across from Rye City Hall
What was once going to be the future headquarters of the Rye Police Department opens today as a new age grocery store. 1037 Boston Post Road, the building that was the subject of rancorous political debate as it was bought and then sold by Rye City, will open today as Mrs. Green’s Neighborhood Market.
The market hails as "an industry leader in providing organic, locally-sourced produce, fresh food, and healthy-living products".
“As mayor of Rye, I am pleased to welcome Mrs. Green’s to our city,” said Mayor Joe Sack. “I know that I and others have waited with growing anticipation for months, as we have observed the continuing improvements to the new location across from City Hall. We look forward to Mrs. Green’s as a fine addition to Rye’s retail community, and all the great opportunities for Rye shoppers.”
Local officials including Rye City Manager Marcus Serrano and Rye City Councilman Richard Mecca will be on hand Friday morning for the grand opening at 11am. No word if they will have their shopping lists in hand.
The nearly 10,000 square foot space at 1037 Boston Post Road offers customers a fresh juice and coffee bar, freshly-prepared seasonal meals, vitamins, supplements and natural body care, and a wide variety of organic and locally-sourced groceries and produce, including high-quality, sustainable seafood and meat.
Rye residents will be receiving a coupon in the mail this week for $10 off any purchase of $50 or more.
“Mrs. Green’s is committed to providing our families and customers with locally-sourced, seasonal foods and healthy-living products,” said Pat Brown, CEO of Natural Market Food Groups, the parent company of Mrs. Green’s. “We are thrilled to be opening a new store in City of Rye – continuing our strong relationship with the entire Westchester community – and look forward becoming an integral part of this wonderful community.”
The new Rye store is the latest major investment in Mrs. Green’s ongoing plans for expansion, following the opening of its first New York City store in the West Village earlier this year.
