Rye's Wainwright House, has launched a $30,000 fundraising appeal online. Interestingly, the online solicitation has been live for nine days and has yet to record a single donation as of Sunday afternoon. You can change that by donating here.
Wainwright House, built in 1931, is the oldest nonsectarian, nonprofit holistic learning center in the United States. It is a non-governmental organization (NGO) of the United Nations and hosts educational programs, retreats and conferences for civic, nonprofit and other organizations.
The fundraising is "critical in preserving the tranquility and sacredness of this land with its five acres of organic lawns and gardens and its historic and timeless buildings." Wainwright House Inc.is qualified as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax-deductible, as allowed by the law.
