In Wake of Golf Club Fraud, Rye City Receives $1.55M in Settlement

Rye City (that's all of us), after being ripped off by former Rye Golf Club General Manager Scott Yandrasevich (who was indicted and them sent off to the slammer), has received a $1.55M settlement from Traveler's Insurance. The city had sued, saying the insurance company needed to pay for the losses:

"The City of Rye will receive $1.55 million from its insurance company, after the city’s lawsuit over nearly $1.9 million in unpaid insurance claims ended this week in a settlement.

Rye sued Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. in June 2015 for failing to reimburse the city for money stolen in a fraud scheme perpetrated by former Rye Golf Club General Manager Scott Yandrasevich….

Yandrasevich worked at the Rye Golf Club for 11 years, resigning in January 2013, a month before the Rye City Council released a report detailing the scam.

"The city council believed in this case from the beginning," Mayor Joe Sack said. "It took a great amount of fortitude to stick with it, and our hard work was rewarded with $1.55 million. We can now put the Yandrasevich case even further in our rear view mirror.""
