THURSDAY, 10am: Challenges of Long Distance Caregiving at Rye Library
On the heels of Monday's program with Dr. Atul Gawande about living well and ending well in older age, the Rye Free Reading Room is hosting a program "Special Challenges of Long Distance Caregiving" by Mark Brownstein, president and franchisee of My Elder Advocate in Westchester County.

The program is in the library's Meeting Room from 10am – 11am on this Thursday, February 16, 2017. The program notes that caregiving is often triggered by a crisis. It will cover what can be done proactively, and what you can do to help your loved one from afar.
From Brownstein's My Elder Advocate web site:
"You care for an elder loved one. So do we. We place their needs first to ensure they receive the quality of care they deserve. My Elder Advocate is the only independent elder advocacy organization in the US focused exclusively on the needs of elders. We don’t accept placement fees or payments from hospitals, nursing homes or other entities – never have, never will.
Our loyalty is to you and your loved one. Our flat-rate fees are on a case-by-case basis; there are no hidden costs."
Brownstein is also in the insurance business, offering disability income insurance, long term care insurance and life insurance.
