Rye City's annual leave blower ban starts today, May 1st, and lasts until September 30th. Residents may not use gas or electric blowers. Who is exempt? Rye City, of course…
The official word:
"The City of Rye's leaf blower ban prohibits the use of leaf blowers (both gas and electric) in the City between May 1st and September 30th.
Municipal entities, schools, religious institutions, membership clubs, golf courses, hospital, retirement communities, cemeteries and driveway/road paving and sealing activities are exempt.
Please remind any lawn service or other contractor you may use regarding the leaf blower ban.
The City appreciates your cooperation."
