Rye Resident Forgione Busted on Drug Possession and Intent to Sell

Rye PD is moving from busting boozers to busting a resident for the hard stuff, and they continue to name names.

The Police Department announces the arrest of Rye resident, Anthony Forgione, age 28.

On May 26, 2017, Forgione was arrested by the Rye Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit. When arrested, Forgione was in possession of six glassine bags containing a suspected controlled substance. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree with intent to sell, a Class B Felony.

Forgione was processed, arraigned and ultimately held on $10,000.00 bail.

Commissioner Michael C. Corcoran, Jr. stated that, “this arrest is a result of outstanding investigative work by our Special Investigations Unit. The investigation spanned several weeks.” The Special Investigations Unit’s primary mission is narcotics enforcement.

Corcoran added, “We will continue to pursue, arrest and prosecute anyone suspected of selling or possessing controlled substances in our community, as well as share intelligence with our law enforcement partners throughout the region.”
