Rye’s Latimer Won’t Know Until Friday if He is Dem Party Convention Pick for County Boss
Rye's George Latimer, currently State Senator and making a bid for County Executive, won't learn until Friday if he is the choice of the local Democratic convention process. Because of procedural delays, it will be Friday before votes are counted and Latimer knows if he has edged out Ken Jenkins of Yonkers.
Latimer believes he maintains a lead.

From Latimer and his campaign to MyRye.com: "The final results from the County Democratic Convention won't be available until Friday; due to close vote totals on two judicial races, official counting of the vote for County Executive will be held on Friday. The Convention adjourned after 12 midnight with both Latimer and Jenkins agreeing to the delay until Friday. Based on estimates, Latimer appears poised to win at least 55% of the convention vote but Jenkins maintained his plans to run in a September primary. The winner of the contest will face Republican incumbent Rob Astorino on Nov 7."
Latimer has stated he will drop from the race without party support. Jenkins has maintained he will run in the primary regardless if he secures support coming out of the Democratic convention.
