Sunday was the last day for another iconic Rye business, the Dock Deli on Milton Road across from the city boat basin.
LoHud.com had the details:
"One of Rye's longstanding breakfast and lunch spots, prized for its ham and eggs, French toast, tuna salad and addictive "Dock Dip," will shut its doors after nearly three decades.
Dock Deli owners Maggie and Neil Pinsker announced the closure in a farewell letter taped to the storefront entrance on Wednesday. The couple did not immediately respond to requests for comment from lohud.com
"To all our friends and loyal customers, after 29 years of dedicated service to the community and our beloved Rye neighborhood, we are sad to announce that Dock Deli will be closing its doors on December 3, 2017," the letter began.
The news quickly spread across social media and was met with myriad comments left by dismayed locals and fans who considered it a weekly pit stop."
