Rye PD Says Watch for Black Ice; No School Delays as of 6:30am
Rye PD is warning residents to watch for black ice Wednesday morning because of low overnight temperatures.
And as of 6:30am Wednesday, there has been no school delay issued for Rye.
On Tuesday afternoon, school boss Dr. Eric Byrne sent an email to parents stating he was unable to make an early decision on a possible snow day: "We have received a few calls here at the District's offices inquiring about the likelihood of a snow day or delayed opening tomorrow. I regret that I will likely not be able to make a decision tonight as the storm system is moving rapidly and the forecast is changing almost hourly. You will most likely hear from me very early in the morning. I am sorry not to be able to give you more warning this time; Mother Nature is not being cooperative."

This is the City of Rye Police with a weather advisory. Please use caution when exiting your homes. Staircases and sidewalks have become extremely slippery due to icy conditions overnight. We have already had several people slip and fall this morning injuring themselves. Please use caution if you need to drive this morning.
