Rye Schools – The New 22 – Osborn School

Welcome back to school!

The Rye schools have 22 new faces – teachers and administrators – going into the new school year.

Today MyRye.com will introduce you to the six new faces in the Osborn School. That's it – we have introduced you to all the new teachers and administrators you will see across the system.

Now.. tell us your name, your role and a little bit about you…

Brewster  Nathan

Nathan Brewster
Music
Mr. Brewster comes to Osborn School from the Springhurst School in Dobbs Ferry, where he was the fifth grade Band Director. Previously, he was a general music teacher at Scarsdale Middle School. Mr. Brewster has a B.A. in Music from SUNY Geneseo and a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music. He is a freelance percussionist who performs with the Westchester Symphonic Winds and the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Buderman  Katy

Katy Buderman
Special Education
Ms. Buderman comes to Osborn from P.S. 199, Jessie Isador Strauss School, in Manhattan where she worked for six years as special education teacher support services. Previously, she worked at P.S. 3, Bedford Village School, in Brooklyn as a Collaborative Team Teaching 2nd grade Special Education teacher and a Self-Contained 3rd Grade Special Education teacher. Ms. Buderman has worked in the RCSD before; she was a 2nd and 5th grade leave replacement teacher during the 2008-9 school year. Ms. Buderman has a B.S. (summa cum laude) in Elementary and Special Education from Towson University, and a Masters in Advanced Preparation in Learning Disabilities and an Advanced Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), both from Hunter College.

Falco  Jamie

Jamie Falco
School Psychologist
Ms. Falco comes to Osborn from the George Washington Elementary School in the Lakeland Central School District, where she was a leave replacement School Psychologist for the past school year. She has also been a leave replacement school psychologist at the Greenvale and Waverly Schools in the Eastchester Union Free School District. Ms. Falco has a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Educational Psychology from SUNY Oneonta and an M.A. in School Psychology from Iona College.

Monitto  Christina

Christina Monitto
Academic Intervention Services/Special Education
Ms. Monitto comes to Osborn from P.S. 267, East Side Elementary School, in Manhattan, where she worked for the past three years as the head teacher in a 3rd grade integrated co-teaching classroom. Previously, she was a head teacher for first and third grades at P.S. 6, Lillie Deveraux Blake School, also in New York. Ms. Monitto has a B.A. in Childhood Education and an M.S. in Special Education (Learning Disabilities), both from the CUNY Hunter College School of Education, and a Master of Education degree in School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Needleman  Lisa

Lisa Needleman
Special Education
Ms. Needleman comes to Osborn from Haldane Elementary school in Cold Spring, NY, where she was a special education integrated co-teacher for 1st and 4th grades. Previously, she was a learning specialist leave replacement at Mount Kisco Elementary School and a special education teacher at P.S. 20, The Magnet School for Multicultural Education. She has a B.S. in Childhood Education from SUNY Cortland and an M.A. in Special Education from NYU.

Wells  John

John Wells
Interim Assistant Principal
Mr. Wells will serve as the Osborn School interim Assistant Principal for the start of the 2018-19 school year. Mr. Wells was a principal in the Yorktown Central School District for over 16 years. He retired in 2012 from Yorktown and has been serving in interim roles throughout the area, most recently as the interim Assistant Principal at Dows Lane Elementary School in Irvington. Mr. Wells is a former music teacher.
