Rye Sustainability Committee: Don’t Be a Turkey
The Rye Sustainability Committee is telling residents: "Don't Be a Turkey."
The RSC has issued some tips on how not to be wasteful as we each give thanks this week. The group quotes the Natural Resources Defense Council: "in 2016, six million turkeys—a value of roughly $293 million—ended up in the trash … And when it comes to climate pollution, it wastes emissions equivalent to driving a car across the country 800,000 times.”
That's a lot of bird..
