Zero Waste Day – Recycling Event this Saturday, November 3rd at Rye Playland

Zero Waste Day

The Zero Waste Day Recycling Event at Rye Playland is this Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 9am until 3pm. Rain or shine.

You can drop off your unwanted household items for donation, and all sorts of toxic or bulky trash that is not accepted in regular curbside collection.

This is a great, safe, environmentally friendly way to clean out your basement or garage or various nasty chemicals, and also to donate unwanted furniture and other items. Participating organizations include Furniture Sharehouse, Habitat for Humanity, Linking Handlebars, and others.

Not sure what to unload? Check this web site.

“People are becoming more and more mindful of the importance of recycling,” says Sara Goddard, member of Rye City Council and a founding member of the Rye Sustainability Committee. “This day is a win-win: it gives them a chance to help the environment, support worthy causes, and give many of their household items a new lease on life.”
