Post Date: 01/30/2019 4:00 PM
Bitter cold is predicted for our area, beginning tonight and lasting for the next day or two. Please take appropriate precautions when going outdoors. Indoors, please be aware that the cold may be sufficiently extreme to cause damage such as frozen pipes in locations where such problem have not been experienced before. Please use only approved, well-maintained heat sources in the manner for which they were designed.
Both the Rye Free Reading Room and Rye Rec will be available for warming and device charging. The Rye Free Reading Room will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m on Friday. Rye Rec will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both days. In an emergency, please call 911 and the Rye Police Department will make sure you are out of the cold.
As cold as we may be, we may be grateful that we are out of the path of the storms to our north and west.
Stay warm,
Josh Cohn
Mayor
