Rye High Civics Club to Hold Forum with Elected Officials Wednesday, April 24, 2019

The Rye High School Civics Club is inviting the community to a Q&A session with six prominent politicians in the Westchester Area, with an introduction from Rye Mayor Josh Cohn. This forum will take place on April 24th at 5:30 in the Rye Middle School Multipurpose Room.
In a statement, the Civics Club said "Our objective is to have those who are outspoken in the political field to discuss with students topics of mutual interest in a Q&A type setting.This forum will be a call to conversation to have an open and honest conversation with our elected officials." The Civics Club was started last year "to provide a platform for students to discuss topics of political nature in a civil manner. The club brings together students with diverse opinions to have a cordial but hearty discussion".
The forum will commence in two phases: the first phase of questioning will be from members on topics of education reform, running grassroots campaigns, improving political discourse in the country, gun control, and climate change. In the second round of questioning, the civics club will open up to members of the public.
