Rye’s Matthew Ward, Age 21, is Gone
Rye lost Matthew Michael Ward, age 21, on May 31st. Our thoughts are with the family.
Matthew Michael Ward, son of Michael and Vivian Ward, beloved son, brother, and friend died Friday, May 31 at the age of 21. He is survived by his four sisters who loved their brother more than anything in this world: Marguerite, Miriam, Mary-Kathryn, and Meredith. Matthew was the happiest young man who loved making everyone laugh. Matthew was gifted with many talents: he loved making music, jamming with his friends, and playing timpani at St. Augustine's Church on major feast days with his father who is the longtime music director there. He had the ability to light up the room with his infectious smile. He was studying at SUNY Purchase pursuing a degree in communications. The Ward Family is incomplete without Matthew.
