147 COVID-19 Positive in Rye; Westchester Resident Deaths Top 1,000 – Wednesday, April 29, 2020

Westchester County is reporting 147 COVID-19 positive cases in Rye as of Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

During his daily briefing, Rye guy and county boss George Latimer appeared from Peekskill where was was delivering masks earlier in the day. Latimer delivered masks to Rye on Tuesday. The masks are part of of a larger donation from Hanes Brands Inc. to New York State.

Just like everyone else, Latimer is looking at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic. The COVID-19 numbers:

  • Fatalities of Westchester residents: 1,006
  • Fatalities at Westchester nursing homes – note reporting is only available for certain individual nursing & care facilities – State is not showing any reporting on Rye facilities (nothing on The Osborn home, Rye Manor or Vienna Senior Housing)
  • Fatalities in Westchester: 1,119
  • Numbers of persons tested: 90,987
  • Tested positive: 28,626
  • % Positive results: 31.5%
  • Persons tested today: 1,843
  • New positives today: 381
