149 COVID-19 Positive in Rye; 1,049 Westchester Resident Deaths – Friday, May 1, 2020

Westchester County is reporting 149 COVID-19 positive cases in Rye as of Friday, May 1, 2020.
During his daily briefing, Rye guy and county boss George Latimer appeared from the Westchester County Emergency Operations Center. He received a donation of 50,000 protective masks for Westchester County’s front-line workers from the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association.
Just like everyone else, Latimer is looking at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic. The COVID-19 numbers:
- Fatalities of Westchester residents: 1,049
- Fatalities at Westchester nursing homes – note reporting is only available for certain individual nursing & care facilities – State is not showing any reporting on Rye facilities (nothing on The Osborn home, Rye Manor or Vienna Senior Housing)
- Fatalities in Westchester: 1,165
- Numbers of persons tested: 94,442
- Tested positive: 29,232
- % Positive results: 31.0%
- Persons tested today: 1,613
- New positives today: 262
