That’s because almost one-third of Rye households (about 1,600) homes have yet to answer the 2020 Census. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete online.
Rye guy and county boss George Latimer told MyRye.com that as of last Saturday, May 16th, Rye City has 67.9% of all households responding to the 2020 Census. This places the community in the upper third of all Westchester municipalities, with Ardsley in the lead at a 75.5% response ratio.

In 2010, 74.3% of Rye City households responded – about 6% above the current rate. The bulk of responders this year have used the internet, rather than telephone or mail forms; all three formats are available. The door to door phase of the effort has not yet begun, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Census collection ends October 31st.
