Drunk Driving Arrest in Rye During Early Hours Sunday

In the early hours Sunday New York State Police arrested a New Rochelle driver for DWI at twice the legal limit. The arrest was made on Interstate 95.

On July 12, 2020, at approximately 3:25 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-95 in the city of Rye, for multiple vehicle and traffic violations. The driver, Marco A. Lopez Ramirez, 31, of New Rochelle, NY, was found to be intoxicated. Ramirez was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP New Rochelle, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.20%.

Ramirez was subsequently charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor and several Vehicle and Traffic Violations. He was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the City of Rye Court on August 18, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
