Rye Rotary Foundation annual event will be a virtual one this year and will be held on September 24th. This year marks the 58th year since the club’s founding.
With support from the community, the Rotary Club of Rye, hopes to continue its longstanding tradition of offering college bound Rye area senior’s scholarships to help them with the high costs associated with college. Scholarships range from $1,500.00-$5,000.00 per student each year.
According to Rotary Club of Rye’s President, Rita J. Tino, Esq, “The Rye Rotary Foundation has been providing scholarships to deserving Rye area students for decades. This is one of our favorite programs because it directly helps students and their families with expenses associated with a college education today. We are very excited that our 2020 virtual event coincides with our club’s 58th anniversary-what better way to celebrate than to give back,” she said.
A recent Rye High School student who is now in his PhD program and who received a scholarship from the Rotary Club of Rye, had this to say about the program, “Thanks to the generous support of the Rye Rotary Club scholarship, I have been able to successfully pursue a higher education and research opportunities. These opportunities have helped shape my career, and I am grateful to have benefited from the Rye Rotary scholarship.”
Sponsorships for the Rotary of Rye’s High School Scholarship fundraiser are between $100 – $500 and offer marketing benefits such as social media exposure, website listings and inclusion in the club’s online “Anniversary Thank You Journal” which is being created specifically for the event. All proceeds will benefit The Rye Rotary Foundation’s scholarship program (a 5013c organization). Over the years the Rye Rotary Foundation has donated over $400,000 to deserving Rye High graduates.
