Stolen Vehicle, Loaded 9mm Gun – Rye PD Asking for Assistance

If you heard a lot of sirens, cars and even a helicopter last night in the area of Forest Avenue and Grace Church Street that is because the Rye PD was very busy. The police pursued a stolen vehicle that ultimately crashed, and then apprehended one of the three suspects in the vehicle and recovered a loaded 9mm hand gun.
The PD is asking residents in this area to check your yards for any articles that are not yours and if you see anything to call the police.

On Thursday, October 1, 2020 at approximately 10:15pm our officers pursued a stolen vehicle northbound on Forest Ave, the stolen vehicle crashed at the intersection of Grace Church St. Three suspects fled from the vehicle, one suspect a 16 year old male was apprehended by our officers. Two suspects fled through the back yards of Grace Church St. toward Midland Ave. A loaded 9mm handgun was recovered. Our officers searched the area to no avail, if you live in this area please check your yards for any articles that do not belong to you. If any items are discovered please immediately call the Rye Police Department.
