40 New COVID Cases in Rye (& 77 Active) 407 COVID-19 Positives in Rye; 1,515 Westchester Resident Deaths – Monday, November 30, 2020

Not a good number.

For Monday, Westchester reported 40 new COVID cases in Rye. Here are all the City of Rye numbers:

407 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
77 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 309 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);
40 new COVID-19 cases.

With the pick-up in COVID, Latimer has moved his COVID briefings to two times a week, typically Mondays and Thursdays. For whatever reason, Latimer’s second COVID briefing this week is expected on Friday. “COVID cases are rising dramatically,” said Latimer, reporting that 5.6% of people tested in the last 24 hours were positive for COVID. This number was under 1% at its low point a number of months ago.

Just like everyone else, county executives look at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic and at the NY State regional  monitoring dashboard to see our progress towards continued reopening.

Important to note expanded reporting now shows fatality data from all nursing homes in the State, including The Osborn in Rye.

Fatalities of Westchester residents: 1,515
Fatalities at Westchester nursing homes – The Osborn Home in Rye is reporting six (6) confirmed COVID-19 deaths and six (6) presumed COVID-19 deaths thru November 29th (that’s no new confirmed deaths since the prior update). There is no data from Rye Manor or Vienna Senior Housing.)
Fatalities in Westchester: 1,656
Numbers of persons tested: 1,103,921
Tested positive: 50,693
% Positive results: 4.6%
Persons tested today: 9,975
New positives today: 583
