Girls Varsity Tennis Falls to Scarsdale, Capping an Otherwise Victorious Season

The full Girls Varsity Tennis team poses for a team photo on the Scarsdale High School track after the 2020 season’s final match.

Girls Varsity Tennis fell to Scarsdale 2-5 in an away game on Friday, capping an otherwise victorious season.

“Senior co-captain Courtney Lopp returned to her mother Ingrid’s alma mater to win at doubles 8-5 with her partner senior Liz Peron,” said Girls Varsity Tennis Coach Tony Campbell. “Charlotte Ausfahl also won in singles 8-3. In multiple other matches the girls were edged 8-6 showing a great effort against the still undefeated defending Section champs.”

To be able to finish the short chilly stop and start season with a highly competitive match under the lights against the arguably the best team in state was a quality way for Girls Varsity Tennis to wrap up. The team finishes with a 4-1 record.
