The Rye PD is getting scruffy for a cause. “Commissioner Falk waves the general order to be clean shaven for the month of November to allow us to do this,” said Gabe Caputo, head of the Rye PBA.
For the month of November the Rye PBA is donating $50 for each of the 37 Rye PD professionals participating in no shave November to benefit Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center. Thirty seven PD staff participate, and women wear pins. Let’s see how they all look at the end of the month. If residents want to help, they can send checks to the Rye PBA P.O. Box 246 Rye NY 10580 and note the purpose of the donation.
After Thanksgiving, look for news of a Toy for Tots drop off point at Police HQ, so practice your toy purchasing. Unwrapped gifts will be accepted at Police HQ and you will need to ring the bell before an officer will come outside to collect your donation. Drop off will be available 24 hours a day.
