Varsity Girls Soccer blanked Pelham 1-0 at an away game Monday, moving the team’s record to 8-0. Rye has not allowed a single goal to be scored against them all season long.

“Freshman Isabel Harvey delivered a perfect pass to senior captain Meredith Tutun who broke through to score the game winning goal for the Garnets,” said Varsity Girls Soccer Coach Rich Savage. “The Garnets fought extremely hard to pull off a victory at Glover Field against a league rival Pelham Pelicans. The defense had another standout performance and has yet to concede a goal this season.”

Playing away at Pelham is always extremely difficult with its narrow field. Reilly Traynor commanded the back line breaking up all offensive opportunities for Pelham. Lauren Mehrera, Hannah Bertish and Caroline Cox held down the center of the field for Rye.
The team has a very difficult week ahead, and will host Mamaroneck Tuesday at Nugent stadium at 5:00pm.
