Happy Holidays from MyRye.com
MyRye.com turns fifteen years old on New Year’s Day–happy birthday to us and thanks to our readers for making MyRye.com such a vibrant part of our community.
It has been a year like no other as we have all been ravaged by the pandemic, and still face a road ahead even while we can see light at the end of the tunnel. But is is also true that in the toughest times, we are able to find our best selves – as individuals, families, friends and community members.
With all the darkness of the pandemic, we have also seen positive conversations around race, gender equality and how we care for others who suffer from food insecurity. Our PD, FD, DPW and City staff went above and beyond to make our residents comfortable and safe and to mitigate the pandemic’s impact our our local businesses. Our school district mounted a herculean effort to keep our kids engaged in learning. The myriad of fundraisers and food drives and other community efforts are too many to list.
When we do get to the other side of this global tragedy, don’t forget the good things we have seen in 2020. And don’t forget to tell us at MyRye.com about the good things you see in our community, so we can celebrate what makes Rye so special.
We’ll be off Christmas week unless there is breaking news.
Happy holidays to each of you, and best wishes for a better 2021.
