In Memory: Marguerite Frank MacAulay, Age 93

Obituary - Marguerite Frank MacAulayMarguerite Frank MacAulay of Rye, NY passed away peacefully on December 25, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Port Chester on January 18, 1927, the daughter of Sidney J. Frank Sr. and Mary Selzer Frank. After graduating from Rye High School in 1944, she attended the Cochran School of Nursing and St Johns University where she studied Public Health and became a Registered Nurse. She was a proud member of the Cadet Nurse Corp and went on to a career as a public health nurse, then a school nurse for the Rye City School District.

Marguerite served as a Red Cross Disaster Coordinator for Southern Westchester. Her community activities included membership at the Rye Golf Club, Rye Seniors, Girl Scouts, St Monica’s Mothers Club, and CCD teacher at Church of the Resurrection.

Marguerite loved the beach and traveled with her children often. She enjoyed her trips to Disney World with the grandchildren, her many cruises to the Caribbean, especially to Magen’s Bay in St. Thomas, but her most favorite place to visit was Hawaii. As much as she loved her adventures, Rye was home. Her family has been in Rye since 1890, and she happily lived her entire life in Rye. She married John Frederick MacAulay on November 12, 1955, and they were married for 45 years. Together they raised their five children. Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, her husband John and her older brother Sidney J. Frank Jr.

She is survived by her children: Mary Agnes (Michael) Malter, John (Mary Beth) MacAulay, Claire MacAulay, Michael (Grace) MacAulay and Elizabeth (Craig) DeLuca; her beautiful grandchildren: Meaghan (Brian) Serbin, Michael (Rachel) Malter, Elizabeth MacAulay, John Francis MacAulay, John Michael MacAulay, Monica DeLuca, Patrick MacAulay, Julia MacAulay and Jessica MacAulay; and her delightful great grandchildren: Michael and Connor Serbin.

The family will receive friends and family at the Graham Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Resurrection at 11 AM.

Marguerite loved babies and children and has been passionate about children’s health since starting her career in the maternity nursery at United Hospital and doing public health check- ups for new mothers and babies.
