28 New, 133 Active, 945 Total COVID-19 Positives in Rye; 1,851 Deaths in Westchester – Monday, January 25, 2021
Remember that Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer moved his COVID-19 briefings from daily to now twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. So no briefing on the other weekdays, but we do expect to continue to post daily COVID-19 counts for Rye and Westchester County for the foreseeable future.
During his briefing Monday, Latimer discussed discussed the prospect of high school sports starting. The State recently asked County Departments of Health to handle the decision on what should be permissible. “We are going to go through our due diligence [on sports opening] because we want to make sure if we do open this up we do so in a safe fashion,” said Latimer. He said to expect an announcement by Friday from all the county executives in the Hudson Valley / Section One area.
As of Monday, the County has administered 3,327 vaccinations at the County Health Clinic and 12,838 vaccinations at the Westchester County Center.
For Monday, January 25, 2021, Westchester reported the following City of Rye numbers via the County COVID dashboard.
945 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
133 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 812 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);

Just like everyone else, county executives look at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic and at the NY State regional monitoring dashboard to see our progress towards reopening.
