Four COVID Cases Impacting All Five Schools

The District was informed today of four individuals in the RCSD community who have tested positive for COVID-19. The individuals are currently in quarantine. Due to federal health privacy laws, additional information about the individuals cannot be released.

• One individual who had been at Osborn and Milton Schools (last at school on Wednesday, January 13, and Thursday, January 14, respectively)
• One individual at Midland School (last at school on Friday, January 15)
• One individual at Rye Middle School (last at school on Thursday, January 14)
• One individual at Rye High School (last at school on Monday, January 11)

We are working closely with the Westchester County Department of Health and, as always, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. Unfortunately, the Osborn, Milton, and RMS cases did result in the DOH identifying a limited number of individuals needing to quarantine. This afternoon, the District contacted via phone and email the families of students along with faculty and staff who we have been told will need to quarantine. If you did not receive a call and an email from the District, this means that based on the guidance received from the Department of Health, your student or you as a faculty or staff member did not meet their criteria for quarantine. The Department of Health will also be conducting contact tracing for this case using contact information provided by the District; however, we understand that their call backlog is significant and those calls may not come today.
