Two COVID Cases at Rye High School

Dear Rye High School Families, Faculty and Staff,

The District was informed today that two individuals at Rye High School have tested positive for COVID-19. The individuals are currently in quarantine; one was last at the school on Monday, January 25, and the other was last at the school on Thursday, January 28.  Due to federal health privacy laws, additional information about the individuals cannot be released.

We are working closely with the Westchester County Department of Health and, as always, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. Today, the District contacted via phone and email the families of students along with faculty and staff who we have been told will need to quarantine.  If you did not receive a call and an email from the District, this means that based on the guidance received from the Department of Health, your student or you as a faculty or staff member did not meet their criteria for quarantine. The Department of Health will also be conducting contact tracing for this case using contact information provided by the District; however, we understand that their call backlog is significant and those calls may not come today.
