Fire at Middle School Extinguished Quickly
A fire in a Rye Middle School science classroom Tuesday was quickly extinguished according to the school district.
A call report from Rye FD shows time out at 5:34pm to a structural fire at Rye Middle School Room 220. The school district, in an email, said “Custodians were able to extinguish the fire quickly; the Rye Fire Department also responded to the scene. The building is clear and all is well.”

Late this afternoon, there was a small fire in one of the science rooms in the Middle School. Custodians were able to extinguish the fire quickly; the Rye Fire Department also responded to the scene. The building is clear and all is well.
