Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Falls in First Competition
Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving fell in its first competition facing Briarcliff-Pleasantville-Valhalla-Westlake on Monday, 76 to 92. Competing in its home pool, the team did see good individual and replay performances.
“Lente Geelen, Junior, picked up two wins in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Freestyle,” said Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Coach Kelly Johanson. “She was also the lead off swimmer in the winning 200 freestyle relay – with Geelen, Tiedemann, Lien, Hofmann. Currently on the Section 1 Top-40 times list she has the fastest 200 IM and 100 Free in the Section.”
Zoe Lien, a sophomore, also picked up t2 wins in the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke. On the Top-40 list she is currently 9th in the 50 Free and 14th in the 100 Breast. Mia Waldman, Junior, won diving with a score of 183.53. Waldman is currently 10th on the Top-40 list.
