Girls Varsity Volleyball Blanked by Mamaroneck
Rye Girls Varsity Volleyball was blanked by Mamaroneck three sets to zero on Tuesday afternoon.
“This was a tough loss,” said Rye Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach Geri Jones. “We just couldn’t seem to get ourselves in the game today. We struggled defensively against their serving and didn’t adjust well to their hitting. There were moments where we looked like Rye volleyball, but we couldn’t string those together. Two newcomers, Isabel Hurley and Leyla Murati played well at the net. Each had 2 kills.”
Julie Halasz had 8 digs followed up by Mara Ball with 7. Mara Ball led the offense with 6 kills. The season record moves to 2-3.
The team faces Port Chester on Wednesday at 12 noon – watch it.
