Girls Varsity Volleyball Tops Harrison in Season Opener

Rye Girls Varsity Volleyball topped Harrison in its season opener, winning the away match 3-2 in five sets.

“This group played so well together setting up the offense and keeping their focus through their first game,” said Rye Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach Geri Jones. “They never lost the desire to win and pushed Harrison to 5 sets. I am so proud of how well they played. Senior captain Mara Ball set the tone for the game and walked away with 16 kills.”

Maddie Slattery led the offense with 30 assists. Sophomore Isabel Hurley had an excellent first showing on varsity with 11 kills.
