In Memory: Ginger Fultz Pisani, Age 85
Ginger Fultz Pisani, 85, died peacefully on March 7th, due to complications following her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Given the apt nickname, ‘Ginger’ by her father when she was a baby, Ginger’s beauty was legendary with her family and friends as was her fierce independence, quick wit, sharp intelligence, gentle loving nature, and wonderful laugh. Ginger inspired us with an appreciation of all things excellent. She was a lover of nature and gardening, she smiled when she saw a cardinal or a new daffodil on the hill, she could engage toddlers like no one else.
A former resident of Rye, New York; Jupiter, Florida; and Concord, Massachusetts, Ginger was born Mildred Evelyn Fultz in Salem, Indiana, the daughter of Max and Evelyn Fultz. Ginger studied at Wellesley College before her marriage to Leo C. McKenna in 1954. After six years in Hanover, NH, they moved to New York City and then to Rye, NY, to raise a family. She was the proud and devoted mother of four: two sons, John McKenna of Roanoke, Virginia, and Stephen McKenna of New York City; and two daughters, Ann McKenna Jackson of Dutchess County, New York, and Katherine McKenna Brillon of Towson, Maryland. In the 1980s, Ginger took the Series 7 exam, became a licensed general securities representative, and enjoyed a successful career in finance. She took great pride in managing her own portfolio even after retirement.
Ginger also leaves behind eight grandchildren Max and Liam McKenna, Cody Jackson and Jessica McKenna Castaldi, McKenna and Christopher J. Brillon, and Emilie and Timothy McKenna; three great-grandchildren Raven, Wolf and Fox Castaldi; three nephews; Thomas, Michael, and Theodore Witherell; four stepsons from her marriage to Victor Pisani:, Mark, Keith, Craig and Jason Pisani; as well as her two lifelong best friends, her much loved sisters, Maxine Witherell Goetschius and Barbara Fultz Martinez. Her family cherishes her memory.
