Buoyed By Individual and Relay Performances, Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Finishes 13th in Section
Buoyed by individual and relay performances, Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving finished its season Thursday evening 13th in Section.
“Senior Julie Tiedemann had an amazing swim and dropped over a second in the 200 freestyle for a lifetime best time of 1:59.09,” said Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Coach Kelly Johanson. “She also moved up 3 places from prelims and placed 10th.”
Other highlights of the sectional finals included:
Junior Lente Geelen placed 4th in both the 50 free and 100 free.
Senior Ellie Mackle placed 9th in the 100 breaststroke and 16th in the 200 IM
Junior Mia Waldman placed 15th in diving
200 Medley relay (Tiedemann, Mackle, Bedell, Hofmann) moved up a spot and placed 14th.
200 Free Relay- 11th (Lien, Bedell, Tiedemann, Geelen)
400 Free Relay-9th (Lien, Bedell, Tiedemann, Geelen)
The team finishes with a 3-5 record.
