Girls Varsity Softball Leaves Sleepy Hollow Headless in Season Opener
Rye Girls Varsity Softball left Sleepy Hollow headless in its season opener at home on Wednesday, 18-0.
“Senior Mara Ball pitched a terrific game,” said Rye Girls Varsity Softball Coach Alex Tejera. “She allowed only two hits and struck out nine. At the plate she was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Overall the team played great and it was great to play our first high school softball game in two years.”
Senior Athena Hadjipanayis was 3 for 3 with a 2B and a 3B and 3 RBIs. Junior Malena Santia was 2 for 2 with a 2B and 2 RBIs. Junior Jessie Gadaleta was 1 for 1 with 2 RBIs.
The team is scheduled to play Mt. Vernon at home on Tuesday, May 4th at 4:30pm.
