In Person Graduation, Prom Planned for Rye High
An in person graduation and senior prom are being planned at Rye High School. Interim Principal Martin Fitzgerald made the announcement in a communication to students and parents Friday afternoon.
The graduation caravan is returning as a successful pandemic celebration.
Many details are still being worked out, and COVID restrictions will apply. Here are some of the details provided by the school to its students:
Friday, June 4, 6:30 pm – Senior Prom will be held outdoors at The Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club. As of today, New York State is mandating limited attendance, COVID testing, or proof of vaccination for guests at gatherings of this size.
June, exact date/time TBD – Graduation Caravan. We are presently working with the City of Rye and Westchester County on the necessary permits and detailed route plans.
Saturday, June 19, 10:00 am – Graduation is planned as an outdoor event at Nugent Stadium. Further details on tickets and safety requirements are forthcoming. As of today, New York State is mandating limited attendance, COVID testing, or proof of vaccination for guests at gatherings of this size. We will share details in the coming weeks.
