Rye PD Adds New Officer

The Rye Police Department announced the addition of Police Officer Justin Keeney to its ranks. Keeney was sworn in on Monday by Rye City Clerk Carolyn D’Andrea, Esq.

Keeney joins the department from the City of Mount Vernon Police Department. Prior to Mount Vernon he worked for the NYPD in the 46th Precinct covering the central part of the western Bronx including Fordham, University Heights, Morris Heights and Mount Hope neighborhoods. Officer Keeney will be assigned to work with Field Training Officer Kevin Pallone for the next six weeks.

On social media, Rye PD stated “The City of Rye Police would like to welcome our newest officer- PO Justin Keeney comes to us with years of police experience. Best of luck and we wish you a long fulfilling career.” He replaces John Kennedy, who retired from the department.

Keeney graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a degree in Criminal Justice and Accounting in 2015 and Yorktown High school in 2011. He is an avid New York sports fan.
