VIDEO: BLM Sign Stolen – Help Rye PD Identify Bad Guy
The Rye PD need your help identifying a man who stole a Black Lives Matter sign from the front yard of a resident in the 400 block of Park Avenue. This resident has had several signs stolen in the last several months.
“With tomorrow being the start of Pride month we know there will be a lot of pRYEde flags out on display, so we would like to get the message out to the residents to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity,” said Lieutenant Mike Anfuso. “If anyone can identify the man in the video please contact Rye Detectives at (914) 967-1234.”
Incident occurred on Saturday May 29, 2020 at approximately 4:06 am.
Last summer, one Pride flag in Rye was burned and a number were stolen and vandalized, including one from the Mayor’s home.

My read of the video. This is at 424 Park Ave. A paunchy, balding guy (in some sweet reflector sweats) nervously looks around while he struggles to extract a BLM lawn sign. After some doing, he scurries away behind the hedgerow and seems to make a right turn up one of the adjacent driveways. This is quite possibly an immediate neighbor. And he has had enough, because every darn time he returns home from his brisk morning cardio walk (in those fancy sweats) there’s that blasted BLM sign again!
