Cohn Takes Democratic Mantle, Assured a Win in the Fall
Rye Mayor Josh Cohn took a commanding 62% of the vote in Tuesday’s Democratic primary. He enters the fall election cycle on the Democratic and Republican lines, assured of another term as mayor.
“I am grateful to all the Rye voters who expressed their continued confidence,” Cohn told MyRye.com. “My heartfelt thanks to all the incredibly hard-working volunteers and enthusiastic supporters who made this win happen.”
The final unofficial vote tally from the Westchester County Board of Elections as of Wednesday was 513 votes (62%) for Cohn and 319 (38%) for Danielle Tagger-Epstein.
“While I am disappointed in the outcome, both because it deprives voters a more informed choice in the general election, and because I believe I offered a better vision for the city of Rye,m” Tagger-Epstein said in a note sent to her supporters. “I accepted the results and called Josh Cohn to congratulate him on his win.”
