Girls Varsity Softball Sinks to Lakeland, Ending Season with 10-7 Record
Rye Girls Varsity Softball was sunk by Lakeland on Monday 1-0, ending the season with a 10-7 record. It was a quarter finals Matchup between the # 8 seed Rye and the # 1 seed Lakeland.
“Great game by both teams,” said Rye Girls Varsity Softball Coach Alex Tejera. “Mara pitched a terrific game. We just couldn’t do much against their pitcher. Unfortunately, this ends our season. It was a terrific season, one of the best we have ever had. I’m so proud of this team. Thank you so much to our wonderful seniors! They were the heart and soul of this team. We will miss them greatly. We all appreciate everything you gave the program.”
