In Memory: Joseph Thomas Charles Cotter, Age 66
Joseph Thomas Charles Cotter was born on May 20, 1955 in New York City to John Jerome and Theresa Anne Cotter. Joseph grew up in the Bronx and Rye, New York.
Joseph met the love of his life, Marianne McIntyre while working on the Stepinac stage at age fifteen. Marianne and Joseph were married on January 23, 1976 at Sacred Heart Chapel in Yonkers, New York. Joseph graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains and SUNY Maritime (Fort Schuyler). Joseph was a proud member of the SUNY Maritime Alumni Association.
Joseph was a trained Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, traveling the world on Container ships, RO/RO ships, and with the Maritime Pre-Positioning Force. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, sailing and playing with his grand-babies.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Marianne, children Thomas (Coryann) of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Catherine of White Plains, New York, Megan of Bardonia, New York and Erin (Daniel) Spana of Fernandina Beach, Florida and grandchildren Natalie, Caleb, Emma, Charles and Teagan and many, many family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at a later time.
