Rye’sAbove Butterflies Take Flight in September Fundraiser
You have walked or driven by the Rye’sAbove larger-than-life butterflies in the village green. Now you have an opportunity to take a butterfly home while funding programming of our local non-profits.
The Rotary Club of Rye and The Rye Arts Center announced the “Rye’sAbove” program will conclude at a benefit and close of auction event to be held on Tuesday evening September 21st from 5:30-7:30pm at Wainwright House in Rye, overlooking the Long Island Sound. Proceeds from the “Rye’sAbove” butterfly project will be split between The Rye Rotary and the Rye Arts Center and used for each organization’s scholarship and educational programs.
Event guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, a raffle and music by The Arcadia Jazz Trio surrounded by the 36 Rye’sAbove butterflies for their final stop before they are awarded to the highest bidders. Winning bidders can take their butterflies home that evening or make arrangements to pick them up at The Rye Arts Center following the event.
“The goal of Rye’sAbove has been to beautify and uplift the community while supporting educational programs,” said Richard Flahive, past president of the Rye Rotary. “We are delighted the project has enjoyed so much interest and support from the community.”
“Our Benefit and Close of Auction Event to be held on September 21st will also be a wonderful opportunity for members of the community to meet and chat with the wonderfully dedicated artists who decorated these spectaular sculptures,” said Adam Levi, Executive Director of The Rye Arts Center.
Online bidding for the Rye’sAbove butterflies is available until the evening of September 21st. Tickets to the Rye’sAbove benefit and close of auction event are $75.00 each and can be purchased online.
