Girls Varsity Swimming Swamped by White Plains

Rye Girls Varsity Swimming was swamped by White Plains on Thursday, with White Plains taking the away meet 97-86.

“Sydney Goldberg, sophomore, had one of her best meets of the season last night,” said Rye Girls Varsity Swimming Coach Kelly Johanson. “She won the 200 IM and was 2nd in the 100 fly. She led off the 400 free relay and anchored the 200 free relay and went season best times in both.”

Other highlights from the meet include:

  • Senior Mia Waldman placed 2nd in diving and senior Jolie Pineault placed 3rd in diving.
  • Freshman Megan Tiedeman won the 100 back and was 3rd in the 200 IM
  • Freshman Kayla Lombardo placed 2nd in the 500 free and 100 breast.
  • Junior Zoe Lien placed 2nd in the 50 free and 3rd in the 100 breast
  • Freshman Sophia Lord won the 100 free

The team’s record shifts to 3-5. The next meet is Friday afternoon at 4:30pm vs. Westlake.
