Girls Varsity Tennis Climbs Atop Byram Hills, Takes Section 1 Doubles Title

Rye Girls Varsity Tennis climbed atop Byram Hills Wednesday, taking the Section 1 doubles title.

“Senior captains Charlotte Ausfahl and Juliette Stone came out firing against a really excellent, powerful pair from Byram and captured the Section 1 Doubles title in straight sets 6-2, 6-4,” said Rye Girls Varsity Tennis Anthony Campbell. “The tennis from all four players was extraordinary.”

When Juliette and Charlotte were freshmen they anchored Rye’s undefeated season and helped claim the Section 1 Team tennis title. After four successful team seasons and various individual post season runs in singles and doubles they finally broke through in their senior year with the Section Doubles championship and a trip to States.

“They are lovely competitors and so deserving of this accomplishment,” said Campbell.
